Palm Mar the new Marbella!
Well not quite, the arch is similar, but we think that Palm Mar will be a much better place to live.
Nestling by the sea shore at the mouth of the valley between Guaza Mountain and the beautiful nature reserve of Punta Rasca, a developer’s dream is steadily unfolding. This dream is also that of the many hundreds of people who have bought off plan and are awaiting completion of their own project, or those who have already moved there to stay, in what will become the very lovely residential community known as Palm Mar.
People that have who have not visited Palm Mar for a while will be amazed at the spectacular steps forward that have been made. Around 1300 of the 2,000 homes planned are either complete or nearing completion now, and the project is gaining momentum daily.
Palm Mar encompasses a wide range of property types from very nice one-bedroom apartments in complexes with swimming pools, to superb luxury detached villas. There are 3 supermarkets, 4 bars, 4 restaurants and even an English Tea rooms, with more to come.
But the sea front is the area that most people will be absolutely enthralled by. This area will incorporate a number of attractions unique to the island and will enhance hugely the general desirability to live in Palm Mar. At the east end of the sea front there will be a large sea-water pool, linked to the Atlantic Ocean with its own beach.
At the western end a dry marina is planned along with a water taxi to Los Cristianos. All along the sea front a promenade has been built so people can enjoy the views and sounds and general tranquillity of the sea, The beachfront is the icing on the cake for Palm Mar residents and their visitors.
Work on a shopping centre is nearing completion and it is intended that residents will be fully self sufficient in terms of shopping facilities. These and the beachfront projects are aimed at making the town a haven for residents who are retired and just want a quiet life, or simply want somewhere warm to live temporarily, away from bustling south coast conurbations of Los Cristianos and Las Americas. With this latest point in mind, plans are afoot to establish a water taxi to Los Cristianos which will, in addition to cutting road traffic, cut the commuting time from 15 minutes to a mere 7 minutes via a very lovely 1,500 metre boat ride. Work on the Guaza bypass, a local traffic hot spot, is well under way and should be open very soon. There are also plans to include Palm Mar on the Los Cristianos to Las Galletas Titsa bus route. This will greatly improve the towns appeal to non car drivers.
Palm Mar’s peaceful ambience will provide a vivid contrast to life in the popular tourist spots that most of us came to Tenerife to visit. For those who have decided to spend more time on an island, where there is perpetual summer and the sun always shines (well nearly always!),making buying property in Palm Mar is the perfect choice.
